6ix9ine has been sent back to jail after pleading guilty to violating the conditions of his probations. The rapper’s probation period stems from his controversial racketeering case that saw him collaborate with law enforcement but the controversial star could not stay out of trouble after his release.
The judge sentenced 6ix9ine to 45 days behind bars, exceeding the 3o day term the prosecution had called for. The multiple violations include testing positive for meth, travelling to Las Vegas without permission and twice failing to comply with drug testing requests. Speaking to 6ix9ine, Judge Paul Engelmayer said: “Your breach of the court’s trust is profound. Five violations say to me that you believe the rules don’t apply to you. Maybe you believe that because you’re a famous rapper.” In turn, 6ix9ine pleaded for leniency: “I make a lot of mistakes, but I’m not a bad person.”
Engelmayer also warned 6ix9ine of harsher sentencing should he end up in his court again: “If you are brought back before me, I may sentence you to more.” 6ix9ine initially defended his trip to Vegas through his lawyer, who claimed that he went to the city for a performance and that he believed he had notified the proper authorities but ultimately pled guilty to the offence.
The probation relates to 6ix9ine’s 2019 sentencing after he pleaded guilty to racketeering, firearms offenses and drug trafficking. He was also sentenced to two years in prison plus five years of supervised release.
