CyHi the Prynce has decided to stop holding back when it comes to J. Cole, directly calling him out on a new diss record — which you can hear below.
Late Friday night (February 27), the Georgia MC took to Instagram to unveil a new track titled B.R.A Lost Control.
Produced by Brian AllDay and Mark Byrd, the record finds CyHi firing multiple shots at Cole, a tension that seemingly dates back to 2016, when Cole released False Prophets. That song included criticism aimed at Kanye West, who is both a close friend and longtime collaborator of CyHi. Over the years, CyHi has remained loyal to West despite the latter’s antisemitic remarks, political alignments with Donald Trump, and other controversies.
CyHi opens the track with a blunt message aimed at clearing the air: “Aye, bro. Can you let your people know you’re not fuckin’ with me? ‘Cause them thinking you is, is fuckin’ with me,” before adding, m”I could never fall off” — a clear nod to Cole’s upcoming album, The Fall-Off.
The first verse keeps things relatively restrained, with CyHi slipping in a subtle jab related to Cole’s decision to remove his diss aimed at Kendrick Lamar from Might Delete Later.
“You were scared of our good brother in that Grand National, why? / Shoulda knew you and that lil’ Honda was gonna have to collide,” CyHi raps.
By the second verse, the gloves are fully off. CyHi delivers more pointed bars, referring to Cole as “St. John” — a reference to St. John’s University, where Cole attended school.
“Okay, this might be off topic, but tell St. John that them raps just ain’t that jaw-dropping / You forgot I still owe you for ‘False Prophets’? / I rap punches that’s hard as Bernard Hopkins/ There ain’t no yes men over here, my dawg stop it,” he spits.
The mention of “yes men” directly responds to Cole’s lyrics on “False Prophets,” where he accused West of being surrounded by people unwilling to challenge him — including “the women, the dickriders” and “the yes men.” CyHi clearly took offense to that portrayal and addresses it head-on.
Elsewhere on the track, CyHi warns Cole to watch what he says, again referencing his choice to sidestep Kendrick Lamar. He also threatens to dismantle Cole’s Dreamville Records camp, promising chaos with a vivid comparison to Jamiroquai’s famously kinetic visuals. Listen to the song below:
