The Los Angeles Rams have officially set the internet ablaze, proving once again that their creative team is in a league of its own. Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, the franchise released a viral short film titled Thursday, a meticulous and hilarious recreation of the 1995 cult classic Friday.
A New Generation of Craig and Smokey
The centerpiece of the campaign is the casting: O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Destin Christopher Tucker step into the iconic roles made famous by their fathers, Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. Filmed at the original West Athens house used in the 1995 movie, the duo captures the exact chemistry of Craig and Smokey.
The three-minute video follows “Craig Jr.” and “Lil Smokey” as they lounge on the porch, contemplating their plans for the Rams’ first-round pick. O’Shea Jackson Jr. perfectly channels his father’s deadpan delivery, quipping, “Because it’s Thursday, the Rams got a first-round pick, and we ain’t got sht to do.”
Iconic Cameos and LA Culture
The parody doesn’t stop at the lead duo. The Rams packed the film with Los Angeles legends and current stars:
Terry Crews steps in as the neighborhood bully, Deebo, filling the shoes of the late Tommy “Tiny” Lister Jr.
YG makes a cameo to deliver the infamous Rams mantra: “Man, F them picks.”
Radio legend Big Boy opens the video, grounding the project in authentic LA culture.
Current Rams standouts Jared Verse, Byron Young, and Kevin Dotson show off their acting chops in supporting roles.
