After almost four years of hiatus, we might be very close to the comeback from Compton’s iconic rapper Kendrick Lamar. In a new article published by Billboard where they listed Top Most Anticipated R&B/Hip-Hop albums of the year, the reputable music and entertainment magazine has hinted at an imminent release from Lamar.

Billboard reports “a possible Lamar single could come either Feb 4. or Feb 11 ahead of the star-studded performance. (Superbowl Halftime Show). As announced a few months ago Dr. Dre has enlisted Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige for SuperBowl Halftime Show which is said to be a historical event for Hip-Hop/R&B.

In a new interview Dr, Dre revealed the time length of the performance  “Normally, they are allowing eleven minutes [for the performance] but they gave us north of 13 minutes to do our thing,”

Few months ago Kendrick Lamar opened up about his upcoming album as he teased farewell from the label TDE and transitioned into his own label pg-lang, “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years.” wrote Kendrick in the note. Since then the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper is yet to give any concrete information about his long-awaited album, he has also linked up with his protege and pg-lang member Baby Keem on his major debut album ‘The Melodic Blue’.

Snoop Dogg has a thought or two when it comes to Cancel Culture

Clubhouse has fully established itself as the go-to place for viral conversations. The app has been used by a number of rappers to discuss various topics. In the midst of heated debates and controversial topics, Gen-Z and Millennials have joined forces together to create “Cancel Culture.” Many artists, politicians, and entertainers have been affected by the trend, and Snoop has some opinions about it.

The California rapper recently appeared on Clubhouse to talk with Druski where one of the subjects discussed was the cancel community. During the interview, the rapper claimed he would like someone to try canceling him.

“I wish a motherf*cker would try to cancel me,” Snoop said after revealing that he has no regrets in his career. Adding that the cancel culture is only effective if “you believe it when they’re trying to cancel you.”

Snoop also mentioned DaBaby and Chappelle, saying:

“Because you see DaBaby, you see David Chappelle, you see certain motherf*ckers, like, ‘If you do not get out of here with that sh*t… Give a week ni**a I will be back up.” Adding: “You got to believe it. You got to know that your base is your base. The cancel community is not bigger than my fan base. Let’s match up ni**a… Cancel community ni**a meet up. Line up. Cancel community I need you ni**as to line up, Snoop Dogg fan base, mount up.”

Snoop also disclosed near the end of the interview that BTS, a South Korean boy band, is trying to get him on a song. The 50-year-old rapper said:

“I be getting features [requests] from the ni**as that got 35 dollars and I get calls from the biggest artists in the world. I got a group named BTS that is waiting on me to do a song with them right now, and I am trying to figure out if I got time to do this sh*t.” He also revealed that BTS is asking not only for collaboration but for a music video too.

Check out the interview below:

It was recently announced that Snoop Dogg will be one of the performers at Super Bowl LVI halftime show that will air on February 13. See the full story HERE

During a Livestream, DJ Akademiks claimed that Kanye West has been telling people around him, Pete Davidson is suffering from AIDS.

This might be another Kanye move, or as some may refer to it, another act of craziness by the Chicago rapper.

Kanye has previously expressed his desire to reconcile with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, but the begging has stopped for some time. Ye has been hanging out with his new girl, 31-year-old actress Julia Fox, for the past few weeks, and while we were thinking that Kanye was settling down, things may not be as simple as we hoped.

kanye-west-spreading-rumors-about-pete-new-kim-kardashian-boyfriend

It wasn’t a long ago, Kanye released a new song called “Eazy” in which he dissed Pete Davidson, the SNL actor, and Kim’s new boyfriend, but the new Dj Akademiks’ claims are on a whole new level.

During a live stream earlier this week, AK revealed that Kanye is allegedly telling people that Pete has AIDS.

“Yo, this is real talk. Kanye has been telling with anybody within an earshot of himself. He is trying to spread a rumor that Pete Davidson has AIDS,” said AK. “I am telling you this is a fact. I’ve heard this from eight people. He is telling everybody.” He also added, “Bruh, if you have to spread a rumor that the ni**a f*cking your wife has AIDS, my ni**a, like, you burnt out, bro. Wrap it up. It is over.”

See the video below:

While we don’t know whether what AK stated is real, TMZ reported that a person close to Pete has verified the story and that a small number of individuals have called the SNL star to check on him.

On the other hand, a source close to Kanye has laughed at the claim made by AK and called in “nonsense.”

Recently, Ye did an interview with “Hollywood Unlocked” in which he said that he was denied entry to Kim’s home because of Pete’s presence. Check out the story HERE

Last year the two long rivals Gucci Mane and Jeezy seem to clear their difference in the Verzuz battle. It appears that Gucci Mane is still not letting it go as he once again referenced shooting Pookie Loc, a late friend of Jeezy on his latest song ‘Rumors’ ft. Lil Durk.

In the song, Gucci Mane raps “D.A. dropped my murder, didn’t have evidence to prove it (Nah)/I think my house is haunted, yeah, by who? The ghost of Pookie”.

Jeezy seems to not stress about the line as he’s enjoying life with his wife Jeannie Mai Jenkins also the couple recently welcomed a baby. But the OG troll, 50 Cent has shared a video on Instagram where he shared  a clip reacting to the lyric with a headband on as he laughed reciting the lyric.

“yo this shit be crazy out here stay dangerous, that way you feel safe. Get the strap! Gucci say he smokin on pooky Loc”: 50 captioned the post.

NLE Choppa recently appeared on Funk Flex where he did a freestyle allegedly responding to NBA YoungBoy dissing him

NBA YoungBoy recently released a new track called, “Bring The Hook” where the Louisiana rapper dissed the late rapper, King Von. The lyrics go:

“Ni**a, this that Squid Game, O’Block pack get rolled up/ Mu*der what they told us, Atlanta boy get fold up.”

The line soon become controversial, with young rappers claiming it was disrespectful and unnecessary. Lil Reese and NLE Choppa were among those who spoke up about the diss. Following the release of the song, DJ Akademiks tweeted:

“NBA Youngboy on demon time rn … sheesh. N he dropping a whole tape Friday.” To which Reese commented:

“That ain’t no demon time he just rapping like the rest of these rappers all rap.”

NLE jumped into the conversation, replying to Reese’s tweet saying: “I stamp that.”

Check out the tweets below:

From there the ‘beef’ between YB and NLE has been taking over the internet.  In an interview with ‘Hot Freestyle,’ Choppa said that glorifying someone’s death was a “snake move.”

See the clip below:

Soon after the interview, YoungBoy dropped another track, “Know Like I Know” in which he dissed NLE:

“Ayy, I bet your momma be destroyed, ni**a/ When we send your stupid ass to God/ For makin’ statements, choosing’ sides/ About my beef with them lil’ boys/ I could say I saw it, you could say I was your favorite, ni**a.”

Finally, Choppa is responding to the diss with the new freestyle. The 19-year-old rapper appeared on Funk Flex where he delivered the following lines:

“Beef with who? I don’t beef unless there’s blood in the streets/ I don’t beef unless my money and my bank don’t meet/ When it’s beef, 9 milli in my hand when I sleep.”

He also made a reference to the fight he recently had with a fan at the airport, saying:

“Flip-flops when I fight the only time I’m slippin’/ Next fan run-up on me get the clip till its empty/ I won’t stop until it’s finished.”

Listen to the Freestyle below:

On the same day, NLE Choppa pulled up on DJ Akademiks’ “Off The Record” podcast, discussing his relationship with NBA Youngboy, why he has an issue with the King Von diss, and what actually happened at the airport that led him to get into a fight.

NLE Choppa talking about his beef with YB and why he has a problem with him dissing King Von.

Choppa discussed Lil Reese’s tweet, which we previously mentioned, claiming that he “barely read” the statement before replying to it and that all he meant to do was show his appreciation for King Von.

“K-Von, that was my brother”, said NLE. “It was never with me picking a side. Honesty bro, I barely read what Lil Reese said, I barely really read what he said. I just knew what he was saying was siding with my boy Von. If you were to ask me what Lil Reese tweeted, I wouldn’t have been able to speak it word-for-word.” He also added: “At the end of the day, that wasn’t the purpose behind it. Being on the side or just trying to be in some sh*t, it was just off the simple fact that brother [King Von] don’t be able to defend his name. I just feel like, with street stuff, if you did it, if that was your work, if you did all this and do that, speak freely of it. Speak highly of it. You’ve got every right to do it. That was your sh*t, that was your work, do it! But, like, certain stuff be coming from the outsiders and like, that was not even there when certain sh*t happened. I just do not respect that part of it.”

Following this discussion, NLE talked about what his relationship is like with YB, commenting on NBA’s lyrics where he claimed that Choppa was his biggest fan.

“I’m never no hater,” he said. “That used to be all I used to bump. It’s just certain stuff happened in the mix of all that when you blow up and you start to see how everything is and how everything works. That’s when stuff gets altered. I ain’t never say he [YB] wasn’t [my favorite]. He was, but that’s not how stuff is, now.”

NLE Choppa Explains what happened at the airport that got him into a physical fight with a fan

During the interview, NLE talked about the viral video of him getting into a physical altercation at the airport last week. The Memphis rapper denied the claims that the person he argued with was a YB fan.

“I’m just in my own f*cking world, I’m listening to music,” said Choppa. He revealed that the fight happened after he went to the bathroom, “I was walking out the restroom, I had my airphones in, as you can see, I had my hoodie on because I like to be low-key. I like to chill when I’m in the airport. That’s like the time when I don’t really want too much attention on me.”

NLE explained that the guy was calling his name, but he was unable to hear him because of the headphones. The 19-year-old rapper claimed that the fan was trying to get his attention and that’s why he got physical. “He came to me as a fan, I could tell, I could really tell he was a fan. That’s why I tried to de-escalate [the situation]…  But he jumped at me and I’m like ‘what the f*ck’ and I just look at him and like, for a split second I’m thinking, ‘man, should I pop on this ni**a.” Choppa did throw a punch at a fan, and explained that the only reason he took a swing was because he didn’t want to get “sucker-punched” from behind.

“I just feel like if I were to turn my back and walked off, he would have sucker-punched me or did whatever. So I just went ahead and popped it out cause where I’m from you are gonna go do your sh*t.”

NLE further clarified that the person was not a YB fan, as reported by media sources.

“He wasn’t a YounBoy fan,” told the Memphis rapper to Akademiks. “That’s why I hate the media  because they twist sh*t up.”

Dr. Dre discusses the setlist for the Super Bowl and reveals what’s planned for the halftime show

Last week, January 20, the lineup for the Super Bowl LVI halftime show was announced. The list broke the internet as it features superstars like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg. Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige. The teaser for the show, which was directed by F. Gary Gray, titled “The Call,” has received over 9 million views on Pepsi’s YouTube channel.

The 52-year-old film director discussed collaborating with Dr. Dre and the process of developing the halftime teaser, saying:

“Each time I collaborate with Dre, it seems to mark an important moment in entertainment history. From projects like Friday, Set It Off, Straight Outta Compton, to now the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, As a super fan, I consider it an honor and privilege to authentically build and create this moment with five of the most legendary artists in music history. It has been a blast!”

The Pepsi brand will be celebrating its 11th year as the Halftime Show’s headline sponsor.

Recently, Dr. Dre joined BigBoy on a call to discuss how he came up with the lineup for this massive event and what are the plans for the show.

Dr. Dre on how crucial it is for artists in the hip-hop industry to be headlining one of the world’s biggest events.

“It’s really exciting, several people were banging me over the head about it, Snoop being one of them, about doing the show,” revealed Dre. “I still am extremely nervous about it, but I’m excited about it at the same time. We’ve been working hard to put together a fantastic show. It is the first time they’re allowing hip-hop artists to headline the Super Bowl and we’re getting ready to go at it and we know we are going to open the door for other hip-hop artists to be able to do Super Bowl Halftime shows in the future.”

Dre went into detail regarding the performance, revealing how long it would go and whether or not they already had a setlist for the night.

“Normally, they are allowing eleven minutes [for the performance] but they gave us north of 13 minutes to do our thing,” he said. “Because of the lack of time, it makes it kind of easy [to select songs for the performance]. We’re just gonna go right to the hits to heavy hitters, get in, have a great time up there, excite the fans, excite the people and get out. This is probably going to be a springboard for some of the things that are gonna happen in the future that we have planned.”

BigBoy also asked him about the specific songs he will be performing himself to which Dre answered:

“We all got together and everybody’s really comfortable with the song selection. We know exactly what we are gonna do. We have an amazing music director, Adam Blackstone, He’s over the top with it.  Everybody’s really excited about the song selection. It’s time for the rehearsals to start.”

Dr. Dre on how he came up with the lineup for the show.

“Of course, it was difficult Big [to choose artist for the show] but we can’t [have more people] because of the lack of time,” he said. “We’re here. Everybody’s really excited about it and I think the artists that didn’t get a chance to perform with us are gonna appreciate it as well.”

Late actor Michael K. Williams’s documentary Black Market’s latest episode titled “Rage Against The Machine’ has exposed a hidden truth of the modern music industry.

In the episode’s early segment Michael talks to a masked man who’s said to work as an operator in Streaming Farm which buys fake streams. The operator explains to Williams the whole process of manipulating numbers in streaming giant Spotify, while name dropping two of the big names in Hip-Hop music, French Montana and G-Eazy

Some people ask for 100k, 200k (streams) just to get really the appearance of their music to look good when people go to their page.” said the operator while revealing a mere 100K streams costs 1500 bucks.

While showcasing how the streams farming software’s servers can generate streams of a song artificially, the operator also alleged labels a&rs reach out to them for buying the fake streams. He also name-dropped French Montana and G-Eazy as the two examples of artists who were caught in 2020 for doing the scam practice.

The documentary also depicts how concert tickets sales can be manipulated too and much more. Watch full below:

Slim Jxmmi, from the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd, was detained in Miami a few hours ago after reportedly assaulting his partner, with whom he has a son.

According to TMZ, Slim’s girlfriend claims that the two began arguing after she questioned him about a female he follows on Twitter. Slim Jxmmi is accused of assaulting his child’s mother, smashing down a door, and yanking off her hair extensions in the process. According to authorities, Jxmmi was booked for abuse in Miami on Tuesday morning. The 30-year-old rapper is accused of battery.

The police statement reveals, Slim left the house immediately after the altercation and returned a moment later drunk. Slim grabbed the victim’s hair so forcefully that her extension was pulled from her scalp as she tried to put their sleeping child to bed, according to the alleged victim. Following the incident, Slim’s girlfriend tried to record the abuse but was unsuccessful, after which she decided to lock herself in a separate room. Jxmmi was more annoyed by his girlfriend’s actions, he knocked down the door, took away her phone, and threw it out of the balcony, so she couldn’t post the clip she managed to record in a short time. The phone was later found on the streets near their home by the police.

In the arrest report, the incident is described:

“The victim’s hair extension was pulled from her scalp in the process. The victim then grabbed her phone to record the situation, which made [Slim Jxmmi] upset. [Slim] began chasing after the victim to take the phone from her but she kept running around the house to avoid him.”

The police report, also states that Slim’s girlfriend managed to send the video of the abuse to her friend via Instagram but there is no news about the clip being recovered.

After the news broke about Jxmmi’s arrest, his girlfriend delivered a public statement in which she rejected all claims of domestic abuse.

She posted a statement on her Instagram account which reads:

“Oh wow.. this is cap. Dade Country Y’all are wrong fro this. I told you guys he did not hit me. Every officer you guys had in my face are wrong for this. No hands were put on anybody, I stated it more than once. It was a loud argument and the police were called. You guys turn nothing into something. It’s our son’s first birthday tomorrow, what’s wrong with y’all?”

A few days ago, Dr. Dre posted a clip of Eminem ripping his rapid flow verse from 2020’s hit “Godzilla” with the caption: “Marshall Mathers vs Who???!!”

Since then, many famous faces have responded to Dre’s post, including R.A. The Rugged Man, who thinks he broke Eminem’s “Godzilla” record with “Gotta Be Dope,” featuring A-F-R-O and DJ Jazzy Jeff, a track he released shortly after Eminem’s single dropped.

On “Godzilla” Eminem raps 10.65 syllables per second or 339 words in 30 seconds. On “Gotta Be Dope,” RA raps at a speed of 11.14 syllables per second.

Suffolk County, New York-born rapper shared the video on his Instagram, with the screenshot of “Godzilla” breaking record article over it, and in the caption, he wrote: “Easy.”

Matter of fact, Eminem’s “Godzilla” holds a Guinness World Record for “the fastest verse in a hit song,” meaning, the song to be considered for this specific record, must have a charting success on Billboard (must reach at least Top 20 on Hot 100 charts). “Godzilla” debuted at No. 3). Otherwise, a Seattle rapper named NoClue is officially holding the title of the world’s “Fastest Rap MC” by Guinness World Records, for rapping 723 syllables in 51.27 seconds (14.1 syllables per second) on his track “New West.”
