On the track titled Taylor Made Freestyle shared on Drake’s Instagram the OVO head aims at Kendrick taunting him by using Tupac’s AI voice “Kendrick we need ya, the west coast savior Engraving your name in some hip-hop history
If you deal with this viciously/You seem a little nervous about all the publicity/Fuck this Canadian light skin, Dot
We need a no-debated West Coast victory, man/Call him a bitch for me.”
Mopreme shared his thoughts exclusively with TMZ, where he said his issue with Drake using an AI Tupac voice is that he weaponized it … all for a rap battle. According to Mopreme using Pac’s voice is like bringing out a tank, or even going with a nuclear option — and he thinks the battle should be 1-on-1 … with no outside help.
Many Drake fans have pointed out in the last few days that Kendrick Lamar himself used an interview with Tupac for the outro of his critically acclaimed album “To Pimp A Butterfly” released in 2015. Apart from the interview being an essential conclusion of the whole album Mopreme Shakur agreed that it was an homage.
Mopreme also said he loves Drake, Kendrick Lamad J.Cole and they need to make sure that the Rap battle remains sport and doesn’t escalate to violence. He admits Drake’s song made him realize AI “is a hell of a tool” … and in Pac’s case, he’s worried younger generations might confuse the artificial Pac with the real deal.
