The Game and Kanye West song from 2025 has surfaced online

The hip-hop world was set ablaze this week as a high-fidelity leak titled “40 Nights” surfaced online, featuring a long-awaited reunion between The Game and Kanye West. Reportedly recorded in 2025 during the early sessions for The Game’s The Documentary 3, the track leans into a soulful, cinematic production style reminiscent of their mid-2000s collaborations. The song features a distinct sample of “Ahora” by Antony Santos and has been rumored in fan circles to be the spiritual successor to their 2005 classic “Crack Music,” though this remains unconfirmed by either camp.

The timing of the leak is particularly bittersweet for fans, as it comes on the heels of a public falling out between the two icons. In early 2025, West reportedly cut ties with The Game over a perceived betrayal involving the Toronto rapper Top 5. According to social media exchanges, Kanye took issue with The Game “showing love” to an individual who had allegedly threatened him. This led to Kanye publicly withdrawing as the executive producer of The Documentary 3, a role fans were eager to see him fill given their historic chemistry.

The relationship between The Game and Kanye West spans over two decades, beginning with the production of “Dreams” on The Game’s 2005 debut. Throughout the years, they have maintained a “ride-or-die” alliance that often saw them standing together when the rest of the industry turned away. The Game was notably one of the few artists to stick by West during his most controversial eras, a loyalty West acknowledged by gifting him two Maybachs—vehicles that became a point of contention during their recent 2025 spat.

Their collaborative discography is a testament to their shared “West Coast meets Chicago” aesthetic. Beyond the haunting political commentary of “Crack Music,” they delivered the radio-ready “Wouldn’t Get Far” in 2006, where they famously poked fun at video vixens and industry groupies. They reunited again for “Jesus Piece” in 2012 and “Mula” in 2015, consistently proving that West’s soulful loops provided the perfect canvas for The Game’s gritty, name-dropping lyricism.

In 2022, the duo saw a massive resurgence with the release of “Eazy,” a track that dominated headlines for its sample of Eazy-E’s “Eazy-Duz-It” and its controversial music video. At the time, The Game credited Kanye with revitalizing his creative energy, and the two were frequently seen in the studio together, seemingly inseparable. This era solidified the idea that they were more than just colleagues; they were two of the industry’s most prominent “outsiders” who found solace in each other’s defiance of the status quo.

While “40 Nights” currently exists only as a leak, its existence serves as a reminder of the potent musical bond the two share, regardless of their personal friction. Whether this leak prompts a reconciliation or serves as the final swan song of their partnership remains to be seen. For now, the track stands as a “what could have been” for The Documentary 3, showcasing a version of the duo that—despite the drama—has never lost its ability to capture the attention of the culture.
