Hip-Hop’s Pioneer Melle Mel fired back at Eminem who name-dropped him on his recent verse “Realest“. Melle Mel’s 1-minute diss track was negatively received and generally trashed by the audience leading him to delete the diss posts from his Instagram. Melle Mel has now issued a statement regarding the diss and also appreciated Eminem receiving the Hall Of Fame induction.
Melle Mel states “Regrettably my response fell short in its execution and i accept full responsibility of the misjudgment”
Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five veteran also acknowledged Eminem’s dedicated fanbase in his statement “It has became evident that Eminem’s dedicated and passionate fanbase stands unwaveringly by his side which is a testament to their genuine admiration and loyalty”
In his diss, Melle Mel Raps takes aim at Eminem’s status “The top five is cap, you the piss that’s on the floor /In the elevator of rap”
Melle Mel also backtracked and praised Eminem’s skill “From The onset,I have consistently recognized Eminem’s exceptional prowess as an emcee without reservations”
In his multiple interviews, Melle Mel said Eminem is only in the Top 5 of Billboard’s List because of being White. He has now however addressed that as well and said “My unfortunate choice of words suggesting that his success is solely attributed to his color of skin was in no way reflective of my belief”
He later thanked Eminem for giving him a shout-out during his Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction speech “With utmost sincerity i convey my best wishes and extend heartfelt appreciation to Eminem for the recognition extended to me during Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction speech”.
