TDE’s emcee REASON is on the press run for his latest album “Porches” for which the Del Amo Rapper stopped at Rory & Mal’s Podcast where one of the topics of discussion was 10 Years of Kendrick Lamar’s impactful Control Verse.
Hosts noted that every Kendrick was bigger than every Rapper he called out on his Control Verse except Drake. They also asked REASON if his former TDE label mate Kendrick Lamar is bigger than J. Cole.? REASON has an interesting prediction as he claims right now Kendrick is bigger than Cole but “I think when The Fall Off drops, only on the strength of .. ’cause TDE fans are f—ing crazy, not ’cause he’s better than Dot, but just because he’s been more active. I feel like when The Fall Off drops, the fruits of his labor from being so active are gonna show,”
It’s no hidden fact that while Kendrick has taken a long time in between to deliver his albums and his recent album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers came after four years of absence, J. Cole has been keeping the momentum going for himself with a frequent drop of guest features in the middle of his album releases as well.
REASON further states the comparison between J. Cole and Kendrick’s stature has been going on continuously because “But they’ve done this for years, though. To me, they’ve kinda like — Dot is bigger at this point, Cole [is bigger at that point]. They’ve kinda done that for a long time,” said REASON.
